Description
From Casablanca to Fez - An artistic Moroccan North 11 days morocco tours from Casablamca to Fez.
Mythical Morocco
The strait between Europe and Africa has never really been a border. Unceasing exchanges between its two banks, was born a flourishing heritage of which the north of Morocco is also the heir. A route to travel by car, in complete freedom, over the multiple cultural and architectural riches of the region, between ancient Andalusian treasures and Moroccan traditions, whose hospitality reigns supreme. Starting point for this trip, Casablanca reveals its astonishing Art Deco heritage and addresses of disconcerting modernity. Then come the wide open spaces, in their raw state and colors: the ocher and green of the Rif Mountains, the sparkling blonde of the large Moulay Bousselham lagoon, this peaceful seaside resort.
Then Asilah and its medina surrounded by high ramparts swept by the sea. The road then climbs to Tangier, dazzling with cultures, at the crossroads of two seas. A refuge for artists and writers, she has seen Delacroix, Hemingway and Jack Kerouac past. Arriving in Tetouan, you can still notice the Andalusian presence, especially in the medina, classified by Unesco. Finally, the blue of Chefchaouen's houses is visible in the distance. For the end of this trip we planned Fez - whose exceptional medina is of course classified by UNESCO. Always renewed wonder to get lost in its alleys, interspersed with fountains, palaces, madrasahs, caranvérails and gardens, dazzled by the beauty of the zelliges and carved marbles.
During the day, you are free to go wherever you want, at your own pace. At night, we propose to experience a journey through the journey through stages that each have a story to tell. Your first hotel in Casablanca is certainly the most modern, and it has the advantage of dominating the city. Then, you put your suitcases in turn in more traditional addresses: a guest house run by a French couple, an atypical riad in the heart of Tangier, a bubble of relaxation in Chefchaouen, a refined refuge that still resonates with Ottoman grandeur in Fez ... Also, we took the liberty to enhance this trip with a few outings, which are done in private. You first visit the essentials of Casablanca, with the Hassan II mosque as the centerpiece. Then, in Tangier, a resident guides you through the alleys of the medina and the gardens, bringing at the same time some anecdotes about his city. Finally, near Fez, you will spend a day meeting Meknes, the ancient imperial city, and Volubilis, where the remains of the most important Roman site in Morocco stand. If, along the way, you want to adapt your program or face an unforeseen event, our on-site concierge can be reached with a simple phone call.
