Located in the heart of the Draa Valley, Zagora is a very pleasant stop on your trip to southern Morocco. The city of Zagora, swept by sand under an ochre sky, offers many opportunities for excursions in the desert, on foot, on camelback, or in a 4x4 vehicle.
Located a few kilometers from the first dunes of the Sahara, Zagora experienced a real explosion in the 11th century when the Almoravids built this impressive fortress that protected it from invaders for centuries. The shaded alleys of the city, which extend on either side of Mohamed V Street, make walking very pleasant. You enter the center of Zagora through the monumental gate of Ouarzazate. At the southern end of the city is a famous sign indicating the way to Timbuktu, the gateway to the desert.
